Frequently asked questions

Is SSVID really free, or are there hidden costs?

It is free. You do not need an account, you do not have to sign up, and there is nothing to pay or unlock later. There is also no app or browser extension to install, so you only need this website.

Do I have to give any personal details?

No. We do not ask for an account, an email address, or a password to convert a video. To learn what limited technical data a website like this handles, see our Privacy Policy, and our safety page explains why there is nothing to install.

Which formats and qualities can I get?

You can save audio as MP3 or M4A, including a 320 kbps MP3 option, or download the video as MP4 with the resolution selectable up to 4K (2160p) — we give you the best the source video actually offers, so it depends on the video. Formats such as WAV and FLAC are not available. Each tool page has the detail for that format.

What happens to my files after I convert them?

The file and its download link are kept only briefly in temporary storage and then expire automatically. We do not keep a catalogue of what people convert, so your video is not stored afterward. As with any website, basic technical logs may exist for a short time — the Privacy Policy has the specifics.

This is not legal advice. Whether it is allowed depends on the video and the rights you hold, so only convert content you own or have permission to use. Our Terms explain acceptable use, and the DMCA page explains how copyright owners can send a notice.

Can I download a full playlist or several videos at once?

No. SSVID converts one video at a time, so there is no playlist, channel, or batch option. If you want a few videos, paste and convert each link on its own.

Where does the file go on my phone?

On Android, files land in your Downloads folder. On an iPhone or iPad, the file saves into the Files app; a video (MP4) can then be moved into Photos, while audio files (MP3 or M4A) stay in Files.

Why did my conversion fail, and what can I do?

Common causes are a video that is private, age-restricted, removed, or very long, or a brief glitch on our side. Try again in a minute, check that the link still opens on YouTube, or test a different video. We do not run a support desk that fixes individual videos.
